In short
Digital marketing for lawyers
Brolly Agency helps law firms and advocates in Hyderabad build a compliant online presence under Bar Council of India Rule 36: a professional website with practice areas, qualifications and contact details, Google Business Profile management, informative legal content that answers common questions, and clear tracking of enquiries. We do not run advertising that solicits work, publish client results or use testimonials. The goal is simple: when someone searches for the kind of help you provide, they find accurate information about your firm and can contact you easily. You own the website and every account, and the review of your online presence is free.
✔︎ Best for: independent advocates, law firms and chambers, legal-tech and legal-education businesses
✔︎ Core work: compliant website, Google Business Profile, legal-awareness content, SEO, listing accuracy
✔︎ What we never do for advocates: paid ads, testimonials, “best lawyer” claims, cold outreach
✔︎ We are a marketing agency, not a law firm — nothing here is legal advice
Why legal marketing is different
Why digital marketing for lawyers in India needs a different playbook
The tactics that work for a restaurant or a real estate project can put an advocate’s enrolment at risk. Here is what makes legal practices different.
01
Advertising and solicitation are restricted
Rule 36 (Chapter II, Part VI of the BCI Rules) bars advocates from soliciting work or advertising, directly or indirectly. In 2025 the Bar Council of India also warned against social-media promotion, influencer endorsements and digital ads. Breaches can lead to misconduct proceedings under Section 35 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
02
Yet clients still check you online
Before calling, people verify an advocate’s name, office address, enrolment and areas of practice online. If your website is missing or outdated, or a directory lists you inaccurately or without consent, you lose trust you never knew you had.
03
Outdated and non-compliant websites
Many firm websites lack a disclaimer, load slowly on mobile, collect enquiries insecurely — or carry testimonials, “best lawyer” claims and success rates that may themselves breach the rules.
What's included
Bar Council-aware digital marketing services for lawyers
Everything we do is informational, factual and approved by you before it goes live. We work to your instructions and the current Bar Council of India rules.
Rule 36-aligned law firm websites
Fast, secure, mobile-first websites carrying the particulars the Bar Council permits — such as names, contact details, enrolment details, qualifications and areas of practice — with a disclaimer visitors acknowledge, and no testimonials or self-laudatory claims.
Technical SEO & search visibility
Clean site structure, page speed, structured data and Search Console set-up so search engines and AI assistants can find and correctly describe your permitted information when someone searches your name or firm.
Google Business Profile & listing accuracy
A factual Google Business Profile with your office name, address, hours and phone, consistent details across directories, and no promotional posts, offers or solicited reviews.
Thought leadership & legal-awareness content
Articles, law updates and explainers written or reviewed by your advocates — educational content that demonstrates expertise without inviting work, published on your website and professional profiles.
Name & listing protection
Monitoring of search results and third-party directories that use your name, correction requests for inaccurate data, and removal requests for listings you never authorised.
Secure, confidential enquiry handling
SSL, secure contact forms, spam protection, access controls and backups, with enquiry routing designed around client confidentiality and India’s DPDP Act 2023.
Who we work with
For advocates, law firms and legal businesses
An independent advocate needs a clear, compliant profile; a multi-partner firm needs practice-area pages, partner profiles and secure enquiry handling. Legal-tech, legal-education and compliance businesses that are not advocates’ practices can use a wider marketing mix, subject to their own rules — we tailor the plan to which category you are in.

Who looks you up
Who searches for your practice, and what do they need to find?
Most people who look up an advocate already have your name from a referral. Our job is not to attract or persuade them, but to make sure the information they find is accurate, permitted and easy to verify.
Visitor 01
The individual with a legal matter
Who they are: someone referred by a friend, relative or another professional, checking your details before they call.
What they search: your name with “advocate Hyderabad”, your firm’s address or phone, and general questions such as “how to file a consumer complaint in Telangana”.
What they need to find → what we build: correct enrolment details, areas of practice, office address and hours, and clear general explanations. We build a Rule 36-aligned website, a factual Google Business Profile and legal-awareness explainers you approve.
Visitor 02
The business owner or in-house counsel
Who they are: a founder, CFO or legal manager who has been given your firm’s name for a corporate, commercial, tax or IP matter.
What they search: your firm’s partners and practice areas, plus topics such as “trademark registration process in India” or “GST notice reply procedure”.
What they need to find → what we build: partner qualifications and practice areas stated factually, and published commentary that shows depth. We build partner and practice-area pages, author pages and educational articles.
Visitor 03
The fellow advocate, journalist or researcher
Who they are: peers, reporters and academics checking your credentials, publications or chambers address.
What they search: your full name, your articles or commentary on a judgment, and your firm on Google Maps.
What they need to find → what we build: one consistent, accurate record. We handle name and listing protection, correct directory details and Search Console, so outdated or unauthorised listings do not speak for you.
The Brolly Growth System
How we build a compliant online presence for lawyers with AI
The same five-step system we use for every client, adapted to Rule 36: for advocates, “reach” means being findable and accurate, never advertising or soliciting work.
01
Understand
A free review of what people find when they search your name: your website against the permitted particulars, Google Business Profile, directories and site security, then a written plan of what we will and will not publish, for your sign-off.
02
Reach: be found, not promoted
Technical SEO, consistent directory details, a factual Google Business Profile and AI search optimisation so assistants describe your permitted information accurately. No ads, promotions or outreach.
03
Convert: clarity, not persuasion
A Rule 36-aligned website with the prescribed particulars, a disclaimer visitors acknowledge, clear practice areas and a simple, secure way to make contact.
04
Automate: secure handling
Secure enquiry routing, acknowledgement emails and confidential storage designed around the DPDP Act 2023. No WhatsApp blasts, follow-up sequences or review requests.
05
Scale: maintain and improve
Monthly security, speed and listing checks, new legal-awareness articles you approve, and a plain-language report on search visibility for your name and practice areas.
AI handles search-result monitoring for your name, first drafts of legal-awareness explainers, listing-consistency checks and site-health alerts; our strategists and your advocates handle Rule 36 checks, legal accuracy and approval of every word that goes live.

Website security · Case study
Recovering a hacked professional website
For Medini Cosmetic Surgery we cleaned a hack that had injected roughly 3.6 lakh spam URLs down to about 3,000 and rebuilt the site on WordPress — the same security discipline we bring to law firm websites that handle confidential enquiries.
Brands we've worked with
Trusted across many industries
Our clients include Medini Cosmetic Surgery, Vedanta Hospitals, Mind Q Systems, Sreeram Ventures, Marut Drones and SAIMA College — businesses with very different rules and audiences.
Bar Council-aware by design
What we will — and won’t — do for your practice
Rule 36 prohibits advocates from advertising or soliciting work. A 2008 proviso allows advocates to furnish website information in the form the Bar Council of India prescribes, and that is where we focus: accurate, factual, dignified information that helps people who are already looking for you.
Brolly Agency is a marketing agency, not a law firm. Nothing on this page is legal advice; rules and their interpretation change, so please confirm specific questions with your State Bar Council or senior counsel.
✔︎ No advertising of legal services. We do not run Google, Meta or influencer campaigns promoting an advocate’s practice.
✔︎ No solicitation. No cold calls, WhatsApp blasts, touting, paid referrals or lead buying.
✔︎ No testimonials, rankings or success rates. Nothing self-laudatory or comparative, and no fee promotion.
✔︎ Prescribed particulars plus disclaimer. Websites carry permitted information only, with a disclaimer visitors acknowledge before entering.
✔︎ Confidentiality first. Secure forms, restricted access and data handling designed with India’s DPDP Act 2023 in mind.

Choosing a partner
How lawyers should choose a digital marketing partner
Many agencies sell law firms the same ads-and-leads package they sell everyone else. Ask these four questions before you sign — including to us.
Do they know Rule 36?
Ask what they will not do for an advocate. If the answer includes Google Ads, Instagram promotions or “guaranteed client leads”, they don’t understand the rules.
Will you approve every word?
Your name and enrolment are at stake. Every page, profile and article should be signed off by you before it is published.
Do you own the domain and accounts?
Your domain, hosting, website, Google Business Profile and Search Console should be registered to you or your firm, never to the agency.
Can they keep client data safe?
Enquiries can contain sensitive details. Ask how forms are secured, who can access submissions and how the site is backed up and monitored.

FAQs
Digital marketing for lawyers: questions advocates ask us
Can lawyers advertise in India?
Not in the conventional sense. Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules prohibits advocates from soliciting work or advertising, directly or indirectly. Since a 2008 amendment, advocates may maintain a website furnishing information in the form the Bar Council of India prescribes, with a suitable disclaimer. Confirm current requirements with your State Bar Council.
What is digital marketing for lawyers?
For advocates in India, digital marketing means building an accurate, permissible online presence rather than advertising: a Rule 36-aligned informational website, a factual Google Business Profile, educational legal content and technical SEO so that people already looking for you can find correct information. Brolly Agency provides these services from Hyderabad.
What should a Bar Council-compliant law firm website include?
It should carry only the particulars the Bar Council of India permits — such as advocates’ names, contact details, enrolment details, qualifications and areas of practice — plus a disclaimer visitors acknowledge. It should avoid testimonials, success rates, fee promotions and comparative or self-laudatory claims. We build to the current schedule and your instructions; see our website development service.
Is SEO allowed for law firm websites?
The BCI Rules do not address SEO specifically. Making permitted website information technically accessible to search engines is different from paid advertising, but content must remain informational, with no claims, testimonials or invitations to hire. We keep law firm SEO to technical health and educational content, and recommend confirming your approach with your State Bar Council.
Can advocates use Google Business Profile or social media?
A factual Google Business Profile showing your office name, address, hours and phone number is common; we avoid promotional posts, offers and soliciting reviews. In 2025 the Bar Council of India cautioned advocates against using social media and digital platforms to solicit work, so any social presence should be limited to factual profiles and genuine legal-awareness content you approve.
Can you run Google Ads or Meta Ads for my law practice?
No. Paid ads promoting an advocate’s services would conflict with Rule 36’s prohibition on advertising, so we do not run them for enrolled advocates or their firms. Legal-tech, legal-education and compliance businesses that are not advocates’ practices may use paid media within their own rules, and we can help them with Google Ads.
What is the average cost of digital marketing in Hyderabad for a law firm?
There is no reliable single average. For advocates, the work is usually a one-time website build or clean-up plus ongoing listings, content and SEO, with no ad spend. Website builds are quoted as a fixed fee after a free online presence review, and ongoing SEO runs on our published SEO packages at ₹12,000, ₹20,000 or ₹35,000 a month plus 18% GST; see our pricing page.
How long does it take to build a compliant online presence?
A focused informational website can usually go live within a few weeks, depending mainly on how quickly content is approved. Google Business Profile and directory corrections often take effect within weeks, while search visibility from educational content builds over several months.
Do you work only with lawyers?
No. Brolly Agency is a full-service digital marketing agency in Hyderabad working with businesses in every niche, including healthcare, real estate, education, hospitality and B2B. For legal practices we apply a stricter, Bar Council-aware approach. See the industries we serve.
How does Brolly Agency use AI for lawyers’ websites and content?
Brolly uses AI only for background work, and an advocate approves everything that is published. AI monitors search results and directories that mention your name, drafts first versions of legal-awareness explainers and flags listing inconsistencies or site-security issues; our team then checks each item against Rule 36 and sends it to you for sign-off. Confidential enquiry data is never put into public AI tools.
Will an AI chatbot answer enquiries on my law firm website?
Not on an advocate’s website. A chatbot that answers legal questions or nudges visitors to hire you could amount to giving legal advice or soliciting work, so for advocates we limit automation to securely acknowledging and routing enquiries. Legal-tech and legal-education businesses that are not advocates’ practices can use an AI chatbot within their own rules.
